a decent shot of the engine bay as requested...its a bit of a squeeze in there and very little airflow so on monday its going to the bodyshop to have a slice cut into the bonnet then bent down to get some more cold air in! as when we took the temp from the top of the turbo and it was 280c

so plans for next week starting on monday are - Vent in bonnet, replace broken mount, Decat, lower 10mm all round, bold in cage and also put my harnesses in!

Squeeze indeed! Will look awesome in there after a bit of a clean up. What's the switch in the dash for?

ye talked about sprinter vents in the wings but the main issue is getting heat down behind the engine by the turbo, where i have no battery in the bay there is plenty of flow near the wings

I reckon a well done scoop will look brilliant, mainly because it has a purpose! looks great mate :) cant wait to find something to prey on!

no not a scoop.....will be too obvious! what were doing is cutting a line in the bonnet and then bending it down if you get me? so it wont be that noticeable

Exhaust gas temps, if they get too high they will cause warping of manifold & cracks on the turbo exhaust housing, its a common problem with the IHI VF34's, you prob need to get a gauge if you are building serious heat.. i remember paul mentioning you will probably be running double the temps of a gti

ah right....yes they are about 400 i think whereas they were like 200 on the gti......when i pulled into the garage the other day after playing with the RS4 the temp on the top of the turbo was 280c!!!

the rest of it is ok, paul said he is probably just being a worrier but its best to be safe and have some better airflow

Watched this happen on youtube the other night. Boy did it get hot!! Manifold started glowing red then bang turbo went pop lol

ye its not that bad, just a bit warm!

because my intake temps are really really low so the cooler is doing an awesome job
