Take it off the road as it seems unsafe and the sensible thing to do, that car needs serious attention don't know how it passed MOT! Get another run around for the time being until this one is fixed (which will cost you a lot, either sell it or keep it as a project car).Acemo wrote:just thought i would update the list,
:-engine mounting snapped
-the rings that hold the cambelt on are grinding away at my engine bay
-cv joint snapped
-clutch cable went, just as i got on the motorway

-anti roll bar drop link 'disapeared'
-front grille flew off when i was on the motorway
-fused my cigarete lighter, cd player and central locking
yea thats about all i can remember at the moment, but this car is doing my head in
I read back a bit:
Your key doesn't fit the rear lock? Two possible issues, they either changed the rear boot lock with one of a scrappy, or did that to the front locks. Now you got a situation where you do not know what locks are original with the car or not. Only advice would be to re-order all original locks and keys from the dealers pre-cut from Germany (best option) if you need advice on how to break into the car let me know as I've done it plenty of times where I've left the key in my MK4 1.0 with no central locking, if you got central locking I don't think I can help to unlock it.
Erratic rev issue could be down to many things:
Dirty throttle body
Oxygen sensor
Lambda sensor
Idle control valve
Possible leak somewhere in the engine, ie, gaskets manifold causing ECU panics.
Oil light, oil sensor could be playing up or check your oil in case the filters etc weren't fitted to well you might be slowly loosing oil as you drive?
My best advice would be sell it or have it as a project car, disassemble it and rebuild it like new, but it's your choice.
