I dont think you have to take the bumper off but i had to, i managed to get a few clips off on one side and while i was pulling it off, the original splitter started tearing and left the clips still in the bumper, so i ended up having to take the bumper off and pry the clips out. even putting the splitter on is not as straight forward as it sounds. start in the middle pushing the clips in one by one, working outwards, then once i got to the edges i found the splitter 'appeared' too short so i was sitting there pulling the edge of the bumper outwards and pulling the splitter round so it clips in at the edges. having another pair of hands probably would help...alot!! but im so happy with the results, the front end looks alot meaner!

oh yes its hard to believe how much of a difference the splitter can make. it really sets off the front of the car.

What you got planned next then?
after the spoiler i think that will be it with the bodywork, i want to get some wind deflectors though

then i will drop it hopefully in June as i have exams in May. i like the look of the Eibach sportline springs on MBoyle4's gti, if not i might pick up a set of JOM coilovers

but before that it will just be the small details and some engine maintenance but il see how it all goes :D
Sounds good man,

Just bear in mind that the GTI is roughly 15mm lower than a standard 6N2 from the factory so you won’t quite get the same drop if you fit the Eibach Sportlines on your Polo, however it will certainly look much better and should make a noticeable difference to the handling.

yeh i didn't really want it extemely low and i think those springs will level out the front and back arch gap quite nicely, so il see how that goes :)

Haha i was thinking to, but i think it goes quite nice with the black bum strips and secondly... lol there is no way im going to take that splitter off, spray it and try putting it back on. i would spray it if mine was colour coded. you planning on getting a splitter?

spoiler is going well so far, i've just clear coated one side, waiting for it to dry so i can flip it and clear coat the other side.

the real task is going to be trying to stick the spoiler on and hoping it will stay in place :?

let me know if you need any help with the splitter when you get it... its a b****. lol
