Just ordered coilovers for the GTI last week. This week it decided it didnt like going into 5th every now and again and on me way to cinema last night it started slipping in 3rd. Had the gearbox recondition just after christmas last year so not to happy.
Decided the car is like a bad girlfriend you treat em nice with nice things such as machine polishing, nice shoes, coilovers and they still mess you around lol.
Car is booked into garage that done the gearbox on monday, so that means no DC10 for me tomorrow as the GT is in bits at the moment and no way near enough time to get it ready for a show.
Prince of Persia was alright though

Gutted mate, how many miles have you covered since the refurb?
Did you get a warranty with the refurb?

refurb was done on 31/12/09 erm not sure how many miles done after it not that many to be honest. The guy i brought it off said that it has a 1 year warranty on it and the company is local so spoke to em earlier and i'm taking it in Monday.
I have got the receipt for it so hopefully they will do it on the warranty if not im back into debt to the mrs again lol (until student grant comes in september. Thanks David.)
Was going to clean it today but decided to do the GT instead to show my displeasure at it

after the gearbox problems, i took it to the garage where the gearbox was done. They had a look at it and they couldnt get it to play up so i told them to thrash it and eventually did. Turned out it was the gear linkages so i got a bill for 200£. Now the car runs great but they managed to get the air bag light on dont know how they managed it? any one know how to get it off??
After gearbox issues these arrived:
Was hoping to fit they before i go on hols on friday but havent had time so going to leave them off until i get back. Plus i know for a fact they have some nasty pot holes and speed bumps in wales so probably for the best.
Decided i was getting bored of listening to the same 6 CD's so robbed the CD player from the GT as it has an AUX port to plug me ipod in. However since doing this ive lost the use of the CD changer as the one from the GT doesnt have the slot for it to be plugged into. I dont know if its possible to get the slot for it so it will connect, will have to look into it as im no audio specialist.
Done
Hung me hoola to me ninja
Dewipered the rear
All was going good then FML. Basically going down a road wide enough for a car to be parked on the side and two cars able to pass eachother whilst one parked. Car on otherside of the road opens their door as a box lorry is going past it, lorry has to swerve into my lane i have to swerve to avoid it and brushing the kerb with me front passenger wheel causing this.
Me and lorry driver proceed to have a go at stupid person who opened their door who claimed they didnt see the lorry. Person apologises and lorry driver gives me 30£ to try and cover damages which although may be silly i didnt want to take as it wasnt his fault but he insisted so i now have to take the wheel in to be done for the 3rd time lol.
Megs whoring
Other news decided it would be a good idea to fit me black carpet and genesis seats to the GT as i wanted black tartan seats and i could so pics:
Before
During
After
Dont have any pics of it fully done but when stripping up the carpet i found a hole of rust the size of the top of a coke can which the MOT people should have but didnt spot lol
Comments and all that welcome, will update again with a few pics when im in wales and after when coilovers are fitted

Am posting this from the cottage we are renting for our holiday in wales
Staying at a place called llangenyth (think thats how it is spelt)
Car before we left when it was fully loaded up
Some pics with the car at the cottage
Random caravan lol
Me fav
Really wanted to get the car lowered before we came but am seriously glad i didnt get around to it as there are some nasty speed bumps getting into beach carparks and being pushed off the road by landrovers etc lol. Seriously dont know how people can have lowered cars in the sticks like this, if i put satnav on at the house it says please find the nearest road lol.
Not really seen much in the way of dubs just 1 black Lupo in mumbles with a moody bonnet and a faint view of a 16v corrado
I took pics with me house mates camera which i robbed but forgot to bring the charger lead so its not run out of battery lol

wasn't really the shine that i was aiming for. I mainly wanted to smooth the paint, i know people say how much of a good job does but i never believed it until i felt the comparison to running my hand over the paint before it was done to after was unbelievable and i couldn't believe how much dirt came off on the clay bar lol.
Most of the shine came from the autoglym super resin polish
Thanks for all the comments nice to know the 6 hours i spent doing it was worth while
