Pilot, great job.

Well sorted heated seat drivers leds, swapped pins on the 774 module & voila both sides as factory.

Rear fog works now, however, the wiring was already correct from E1 to BCM then BCM to rear fog, strangely when I went to test the fog was lit up as it should have been, very bizarre, must have been some meddling last time & I have found some modules need a little bit of downtime to take affect, audis have been known to take sometimes a few hours, its constnatly working atm so I'd say it was a glitch somewhere, the connectors werent clicked in as aftermarket, but that shouldnt of been the issue considering they worked on the older bcm, we'll see if its a permanent fix.

Now some weirdness, when you disable lamp diagnosis for rear fog & low headlight, as in untick the active box, it actually allows instruments to light up bulb out, if you tick the box it actually doesnt light up as bulb out as theyr,e led's, so the vcds bit is doing the opposite of the fucntion its supposed too, weird but hey ho it works, it still bizarrely shows an error in bcm for those bulbs but dash doesnt show up bulb warning.

Have you come across this on the 6R.

Also, tell me its not so, but the drivers dash trim where the fusebox & bcm are, they're fixed in position cant be removed? as it appears to get in there with more room you'd have to remove the whole dash lol.

Thanks.

Well done!👍

I assume they're spells conjured by wizards or sorcerers...🤭
However, in many cases/occasions, you have to completely close the diagnosis, perform a new ignition cycle, and upon re-entering the module immediately afterward—that is, by doing a new reading of the control module/unit—you find that the modification/coding/change has been saved.

Based on your observations, they confirm my suspicions, and in relation to this, I could comment more about erWin and the rear fog light for 6R 'RHD' Blue Motion/GT/Bixenon/BCMmax-Re4, but I prefer not to comment bad things about erWin 'again' because it seems that I am its Nemesis (the smart ass boy).

Yes, since the beginning of time, we know (at least me and some others) that in Byte16 where it says "active" it actually works as "inactive".

With the expanded VCDS label for the BCM PQ25 we can see the definition of each Bit...

Note: This '7H0 BCM Max factory coding' belongs to a 6R BlueGT with Halogen Headlights.
Note2: Please note that the BCM Max 7E0 which replace the 7H0 one (is shown at ETKA) may show improvements/changes when coded (SW evolution logic).
...and depending on the model of bulbs installed, you can play with the diagnosis and its activation method (PWM or not) to avoid the warning light on the dashboard and/or diagnosis (error/fault).

Yes, it would have been great if that trim could have been removed like on other VW models... I guess VW already knew/imagined they had to make things more difficult for us (the enthusiasts  ).

Many people around the world would have been deeply grateful to have been able to do the complete wiring adaptation for BCM Max or installation of wiring for Automatic lights if that trim had been removable.😊

Thanks for your report. We'll see over time if we've resolved it permanently.
Hugs.🤗

Just a bit of feedback quickly, no dash lights still, rear aftermarkets lights appear to be working still as required, still of course shows a fault log in the bcm for the relevant lights but thats fine as fog works & no dash warnings.

I need to raise a Ross-tech thread about this active/inactive issue as thats not right, I'll see if Uwe takes an interest.

When he's ready I'll add some more systems, front pdc & front bixenons iirc, aswell as rwwire his ICE as previous installers came with a horse imho :)

Yeah that dash trim is quite stunning why they even thought it was a sensible idea to lock it in place, although I reckon I could fashion it to be removable but not today lol.

Thanks for the report, it's appreciated.

I'd also add Automatic lights; the RLS sensor is already there.

A good/perfect driving aid. They're especially good in rainy/cloudy weather. It could prevent an incident/accident or save your life because 'another driver' with 'poor vision' was able to see your vehicle in adverse weather conditions... not to mention the convenience of all its features.
Being truly practical, I think it should even take priority over installing bi-xenon headlights.
IMHO, a current vehicle without automatic lights is like a old carriage...

Do you have a lighter to light the candles?😁

lol yeah carraige awaits you.

I didnt realise it had the rls in place, I didnt notice that behind the mirror, he has fitted an aftermarket auto light headlight switch with sensor, I prefer oem but its economics for him I guess.

Goes to check etka for the rls :)
