Cheers for that Alex, nice one.

That saves me a fortune in tyres :)

Yeh Si uses 195/45s. They're best grip and rolling radius wise. For us 'show over go' people 165/50s are the way to go though.

OK, the cat is out of the bag on Dubshire and on Club Polo so here's the scoop: I've bought some Borbet BS and they are going on my Polo for 2010! I'll be searching for some 185/45/15 tyres in a month's time then should be able to get them on with minimal arch work and a decent stance. Here's some pics of a previous GTi - some long-term members might remember the car - with the exact same wheels (they have passed through three other owners before reaching me!):

I'm expecting to have to do a little arch rolling on the back at least! I'm aiming to get this sorted out in time for Ultimate Dubs 2010, regardless of if the car is on a stand or in the car park :)

GTiLass, she went under on ClubPolo. They were her wheels originally and now I own them. Andy did have some of these but they might have been wider!

I've got a pair of 7"s and a pair of 8"s, I think they are ET30. At my current height the rears scrub over bumps quite a lot - they are fitted with Goodyear Eagle 195/45/15 rubber - so the thinner tyres and a bit of arch rolling should fix this.

Thinking about getting them sent for a bit of full mirror polish... what do you think? 8)

Andy had 8s front 9s rear IIRC.

To be honest mate, you may be OK with just the 185s (no arch work). You'll be surprised how much difference they make to 195s. Mine don't give me any grief on the rears unless I have people in the back, and they're ET25.

Mirror polished would look sweet 8)

A handful of pictures from yesterday's ClubPolo rolling road day at Aldon Automotive in Brierley Hill!

All pictures by Rob Davies (no relation!). Firmly in "winter-mode", I've not cleaned the car since November and don't really plan to until February when the Borbets go on!

I made 117bhp on the rollers, which is 2bhp more than when I ran two years ago. The difference is probably down to either the last service (100k service inc. new plugs) or simply the colder air temperatures!

2bhp gain - whoop whoop lol

I seen the results on clubpolo - A few people saying that the rollers are out?

Anyway, can't wait to see pics of it with the borbets on :)

Look closely Tim - due to image processing by the owner of the pictures, the orange part of the rear nearside light is almost red!! They are very much still attached
