Looking good matey, think they only look good on the GTI, I was thinking of getting some lefties from Dectane but was out off what they look like on a standard Silver Polo... Do you have any pics with low beams on?

Cheers fella :D I'm sure they will look just as good on any 6R pal. I will try to take some good pics of the dipped beams tonight. But you don't want the LHD ones, you got to think about your fellow road users retinas lol.

It's usually wery easy to take out the lenses and modify them for RHD. All it takes is the screw the lens apart and flip over a plate inside so the light shines in the right direction. :)

But must say I'm not a fan of those headlights...

You can't remove the plate from the rear of the headlight. The whole front of the headlamp needs to be removed in order to access the relevant area.

Just having the headlights aligned today so will get a couple of pics of the beam pattern at night. So far though, they look to cast a perfect, crisp light pattern. :D

NMavs! You never updated with night time pics, I've found someone selling a set of RHD ones for a small fortune (smaller than OEM Xenons lol) but wanna see what the beam is like first, these stupid standard headlights keep fogging up now which is useless!

NMavs wrote:So I bought myself another Vagcom (VCDS) cable last week and it arrived on Saturday morning, so decided to have a little play around with some settings.

Had already enabled the auto locking doors and bleeps last time, but have now changed Channel 09 - Brake Assist to Setting 2 (Hard) which makes a huge difference to the feel of the brake pedal & also Channel 39 - XDS to Setting 2 (Hard). This change alone is like night and day. The car feels awesome under hard driving, and also the DSG box is now shifting up and down gears so faster & smoother. Would highly recommend you people with the GTI to give these ago: D

Also enabled the tear drop wipe & heated mirrors to activate when rear windscreen heater is activated and fitted my MFSW controls, which work and absolute treat. £50 for the controls brand new, plug and play job, which is like £200 saving from choosing the option when ordering the car from new: D Winner!
Did you fit the MFSW Buttons yourself? Was looking to do the same but im sure that i needed the button and control unit and modified wiring to the J519 & airbag.

Sorry buddy completely forgot. Will try sort something one night this week when the weather clears up a little. But honestly mate, beam pattern is perfect. Makes such a huge difference to night time driving and also gives a much classier / sportier look to the car. :D

Yes pal, fitted them myself. Took all of 10 - 15 minutes to do. Which polo do you have? If you have one with the DSG flappy paddles then all you need are the switches for the steering wheel. If you don't have the flappy paddles then you will require the wiring loom and the controller (plug) that sits behind the airbag.

lol it's alright buddy, it's been complete and utter s**t down in Rochdale, need to get the winters in before it's too late, I'm undecided on them yet, I don't like the ring around the projector (unsure if you can just pull the bulb out/cut the wire) and I'm worried that the LED's will just give up in a few years :(

Yeah I work in Rochdale so I get to experience the lovely weather everyday  lol

I wasn't so keen on the rings myself, but tbh there not as bright as the LEDs down the edge so it doesn't stand out that much. As for overall quality, the headlights I have seem to be built to rather high standard. There's O-ring seals on the back of the bulb holders, and the headlamps are well sealed as I am still yet to find any signs of condensation! So id like to think the LEDs will last a rather long time to, but I guess that's just one of the things you have to take a chance on and accept really.

Cheers mate, I think that's sold me on them now... I know it's cheeky asking considering its hailstoning but do you have any pics of the beam on the road? Like from outside the car? It seems to be quite wide when looking at that pic which is what I'm looking for ;)

Will have to get a pic for you one night buddy. But trust me, perfect beam pattern. As wide as any OEM projectors go.

No messing at all mate. Headlights came fitted with OEM plugs so just simple plug and play :)
