What's making that noise?

Post by ciden »

I washed the car today, and whilst drying one of the back wheels, I heard this "motor" running - you know like the sound your hear when you've unlocked the door and then you open it - what is it?

Could be the RCL re-locking.
If you unlock and not open the doors it re-locks after a few minutes.

No, but the car was still unlocked - sounded like a motor running from somewhere at the back. And this was like 1.5 hours after I parked the car and started washing it.

Not really sure what it could be coming from the back :?

The only thing I can think of is the motorised lock on the fuel cap or the boot but I can't see any reason for it doing that.

Reminds me of the fuel pump buzzing. But it only does that if the ignition is on.

Beats me!

the fuel system will re prime its self from time to time if certain things are done like if the key is in of if a door is open
