exhaust size?

hi everyone

im am attempting to make my own exhaust system for my mk5 polo 1.4 8v and was wondering what would be the best size exhaust to use.

i plan to build from the cat back. and finish with a oval dtm style back box.

i was thinking 2in what do you reckon?

smaller the better imo

anything bigger and you run the risk of looking like a nova

gti runs a 50mm bore system so thats got to be good

yeah, but really depends what engine it is.

its a 1.4 8v here while the gtis are 1.6 16v

2 inch is about rite! are you mig welding it or going to make a really good system and tig weld it?

or go old skool and gas weld it!

going for the 2 inch pipe then,
mig welding it
just going to follow the same lines as original keeping the same hangers.

if all works will post some pics
