Looking for a polo...

Post by Petrified »

My dad now has a place in Spain and want's a cheap reliable smallish car to keep over there. Obviously instantly thought 'Polo'

Looking to spend around £1500-£2000 what do you think?

Don't say G40!

I was thinking a Mk4 8v or something, can you get them for that sort of money?
Or can you even get a 1.0 mk5 for £2500+?

Also ideally it would be left hand drive, would they usually be cheaper over here or more expensive?

Just looking for opinions at the moment.

I think the Key would be reliability and cheapness to fix.
Are any of the mk4's more reliable than others? and should we stay away from auto boxes??

Many Thanks.
James.

Looking for a UK registered car. And something modern-ish! 1995 onwards sort of thing.

Nothing on ebay 1 on autotrader old f reg. Makes me think it'll be easier finding a polo??

now now, i'm sure he'd be happier with a simple H-reg job. stick to what he knows. 4 cylinders, 4 wheels, 4 seats, 4 gears - what more do you need? £300 to your dad and the rest in his pocket for spending on the lovely spanish birds
