steering noise

Post by Glenn A »

has anyone encountered a loud noise coming from the steering collum when you just turn the wheel from being straight. :? it only happens once until you go back the other way. i have removed the plastic suround underneath the clocks but it still remains. is there any bearing in the collum that might have gone. :?:

Mine used to do that until i tightened the nut and bolt near the foot pedals on the steering collum...Give it a go and see if it still does it.

Glenn... firstly, i see your a local lad (nice one)

secondly... not doubting your ability to diagnose faluts, etc... but have u considered it could might well be one of your strut tops creaking?

I say this, coz i had a similar problem with mine, & it realy does sound & feel like its comming from the steering wheel / colum.

HTH
