Mini weight

Post by GroovyCarrot »

Anyone have any idea what an old mini would weigh without an engine, running gear etc, stripped out as far as I can take it? Ie, bare shell? I know it's an odd question.. just a little mission I'm on

I'd say about as much as a "wet fag packet"

Not sure on the metric conversion of that though

But if you are planning a bedroom rebuild - I'd be carefull about the weight when it's all bolted back together - although they do drive down stairs quite well

You could turn it into a bed quite easily!

hahahahaha :D

well VW beetles are supposedly doable with a team of 4, so you might be able to get away with 2 for a mini (4 sweaty builders allegedly being able to pick up a road-ready one).

the floor should take it, think of the combined weight of all the other crap a bedroom floor takes...... might wanna remove a few of the heavier items first though just to be sure. (the bed, for starters)

maybe you should see if you can rebuild it on the roof of the polo :D
(it's pretty tough - i know it's stronger than the ashtrays one, thats for sure)

Nah, I'm thinking sixth form common room.. the leaving year has a fine tradition of leaving some random mark on the common room, and I think a mini would be pretty cool :D

Mm, that's the problem, space is very tight.. got to get the caretakers permission as well, which is awkward because he's a moody bugger and I think he may have something to say about the mess. Still, I'll work on it.. it'd be great if we could pull it off :D
