Car Keys

Post by wul3er »

I have lost the 2 keys for the polo but i have a Black plastic one.

My mate recons the keys arent coded, does this mean we wouldnt have to goto Vw for a new key.

And what are tough prices i should expect to pay.

Maybee it does but i dont think so.

How could i tell.

Ps. Its the 1.4 8v (think its a "s" model, not 100% though)

It has eletric mirrors and sunroof but manual windows and nothing was color coded ie grill, handles, bump strips

So this means then that i have to goto VW.

I would have thought that the Skeleton key would be too small for a Imobliser chip

I'm sure all UK MK5's had an immobiliser. Even my mk5 1.0 E had one!

that key will probably let you into the car in an emergency, but not start it?

it will have the transponder key for sure - that sends out the signal to let the car start.....
