CALLING NORTH EAST OWNERS...

Post by PhilGTi »

Anyone in the north east of england, or within 20-30 miles of NE16 got a Polo GTi? Ive found the perfect GTi, my dad has just been to see it and its perfect condition and just the right money! My problem is, having never driving a Polo Gti properly id like to ask anyone if they'd mind me having a go in there's. I wouldnt be taking the p***, you can come with me, or ill even leave you my dads 2005 A4 3.0 keys as trust!

I'd let you have a go in mine but I'm about 150 miles away  (and I would let people have a go if they ask nicely, I'm not saying it because I'm 150 miles away!).

To be fair I can't see it being much different to drive than your old Polo, apart from the obvious power increase. If you can't find anyone to let you have a go in their GTi, its not the end of the world, just take it easy and you'll have no problems

Thing is, ive found a really nice Black Polo GTi with Climate etc... problem is, its down a Cambridgeshire. My dads gunna see it today at 4pm because hes on business right next to it. Having never driven one i dont know what it will be like, i was very impressed when i drove a Golf GTi, the gear box was nicer then my polo, the breaks where spot on and the suspsension was lovely. Im scared that if i buy a polo GTi ill be disapointed!

Has anyone driven both a Polo GTi and a Golf GTi, can you tell me the differences etc...

I might be back up in Newcastle for a day or two this week, not entirely sure when though.

But by all means if you want to try my GTi you're more than welcome.

I'd say gearbox is better in a Golf GTi. (i assume your talking about a mk4?)

Clutch is also lighter and brakes feel more reassuring, however brakes on the Polo aren't too bad and i'd definately say it handles better than the Golf.
