Speed Pulse Wire

Post by dunstable_gti »

Im currently deciding if i should get a gti or not, one of the things i want to do is put a avic-x1r headunit and needs a clamp on the speed pulse wire which can be in the loom somewhere.

I had a similer situation when i went to fix mine, i couldn't find the speed pulse on the wiring loom anywhere, then got fed up and ended up taking my n6 16v to cartronics and thay fixed it to the gearbox for about £30
and it work fine.
hope this helps.

What is the Speed Pulse Wire for, and how come a headunit needs connecting to it?

At the fusebox there is a white connector G1. Pin 11 carries the signal. OR: Diesel engine cars, there is a Hall generator at the gearbox with 3 cables: Black, Brown/Green and White/Blue. The white/Blue cable carries the signal.
