GTi MPG and range

Post by se97mlm »

What fuel tank range do you GTi owners out there get?
My CL1.4 gets 410 to a tank

I don't mind thirst, but filling up every two or three days is tiresome!

On my run out to the coast on Thursday, I got 310 miles from £28.00

The tank is 40-45 litres

I usually only get about 250 miles before the fuel light comes on, but that is A and B road driving only, no dual carrageways or motorways.

The GTi is in no way an ecconomical car to run.

When i went to worthersee i did aprox 500km with a tank. And the average speed was 160km/h. When i hold on the same speed for a long time my gti is " economic " :P :P

If you go on a long run on a motorway you'll be ok in a GTi, it's just when you start ragging it round the countryside, changing up and down gears and taking it to the red line, the MPG plummets.
