9n bodywork

Post by mfa-polo »

I bought my 9n (2002) in diamond black or is it magic black, paint work is looking in a bad state, with a series of tiny scratches all over the surface, ive tried polishing them out, but it doesnt seem to improve things. Could anyone recommend any products or do I have to live with it? Matt

sounds like you need a machine polish done by a pro, most body shops will do it
i wouldnt try a machine polish yourself with your car being black

Here is a picture of my bodywork, you would have thought someone cleaned the entire car with a brillo pad! (very destressing!) Any ideas on what I could do? please let me know.

I know it hurts when I look at it!

I was so excited about the car when I was buying it, that I neglected to examine the bodywork.

Now what?

OMFG!

I wasn't expecting that! Very painful to see!

Thats gonna be a bodyshop job. They will use a porter cable polisher and loads of products. It can be done.

Can i ask how it got that bad?

I'd ring round your local body shops and ask how much they'd charge to use a porter cable polisher on the whole car.

No idea how much..not even a guesstimate.

it should come out with a proper machine polish.
they will probably flatten the whole car of with a very fine sand paper then re buff it with a polisher,
it looks like its just the clear coat that is damaged but it will look a whole lot worse with it being black
i would guess at around £100 ish to do the job
