mines done just over 119,000. am sure somebodys gonna have a LOT more lol. but who will be the overall high milage champion?!??!

My chassis/shell is just coming up for 158k, though there's only about 9k on the engine since rebuild (or about 108k on the engine in total).

I bow down to Andy's higher mileage, mine's just about to tick over 150,000 but the engine's only done half that.

lol i'll try to get hold of one of my neighbours as he has an A reg MkI golf GTi which he's had since new and is in mint condition on the original engine, he's 87 mind

i know he's done over 200,000 in it

I've done 93,000.. fairly low for a 1986 car really. The engine has done about 130,000 miles though, which is a bit more worrying.

there was a guy who came into my work place the other day with a old merc 300 estate. really old thing but clean as hell. looked at the clock- had 435'000!!!!!!!!

apparently most manufacturers have a "million mile club". highest EVER recorded milage is a volvo:

A 1966 Volvo P-1800S owned by Irvin Gordon of East Patchogue, New York, USA, had covered in excess of 3,572,342 km (2,219,751 miles) by March 2004. The car is still driven on a daily basis and covers over 160,000 km (100,000 miles) per year, thanks in part to being driven to numerous car shows and events in Europe and the USA.

now thats a lot of driving! :wow:
