hi guys,
when i'm driving in a straight line (and my wheels are straight) my steering wheel is slightly out of line and turned a little one way.
is there an easy way of adjusting it so its back straight?
just niggles me
ta
wonky steering wheel
Yeah, I'm not sure about whether you can do it yourself, I wouldn't have thought so, you will need to take it to a garage and have them adjust it for you, I had this done when I had it last tracked and yes, it is annoying.
I've been told that you may be able to adjust this by undoing the nut in the steering wheel and moving the wheel until straight and then tightening the nut again, however you need to be careful if you have the airbag and probably best to wait for some futher postings to confirm this.

Its because the camber is out... someone has had the suspension off at some point or it has been nocked out of place. You need to get the wheels re aligned.
Short Explination:
When they take your suspension off to lower the car or something they have to put them back in alignment or when they put it back together they will be out. Normally when doing something like this a mechanic will put a dot or a line on the top of the suspension strut and on the car. This means that when the springs etc are in place he can re align the suspension strut back into the correct place.
Not a good idea to just adjust the steering wheel if this is the case because the steering is just showing the side effects of a problem and correcting the steering wheel itself just hides a problem.
If you get me? Not many places do this properly though in my experience, take it to somewhere that does camber/tracking etc they should sort you out.
Hope this is some use!
