Post by mineshdattani »

Hi ppl,
jus adjusted the steering wheel as it would point a little to the left when going straight, so sorted that out, and now horn doesnt work....any ideas? is there a fuse for it? if so where is it located? anythin else that could be wrong???

the fuse will be under the bonnet, at the back on the right hand side as you look at the car. may also be one of the metal contacts behind the wheel that isn't making a connection?

What he said^^^^^^^^

Basically if its the GT/G40/Genesis type chunky wheel, there are two parts to the horn push. you will need to remove both of those to get sort the connectors out. If its a CL type one, the horn push is one piece, and again will come out easy enought to allow you to reconnect any loose connections.

dont wish to state the bleedin' obvious, but did you test it with or without the ignition on?

polo horns dont work with the key off... even though the brake lights do :D

(i think however, it might be affected by the same handy electrical "bug" as the wipers.. if you activate the switch and then pull the headlight flasher, theres a short circuit which turns the wash-wipe on regardless of the key)
