water hose size?

Post by Tahrey1043 »

im still not convinced my radiator top hose is sealing properly at the thermostat end (after changing jubilee clip, making it really tight this time, adding seek & seal etc), might need to renew it .... anyone know what the diameter is that i'd need for that?

or any other ways of making it seal properly would be good

might not need to, will have to check properly, but there's a stain underneath the car which may well be slowly dripping coolant (hope so, as if its anything else, the things screwed)

Just get another pipe off a another MK3 at the scrappers.

You've probably overtightened the jubilee and split the pipe, as they tend to go at the ends, then start dribbling coolant out.

Couple of quid from the scrappers.

Why have you used a jubilee clip ? The orginal spring clips are far better. like he said get another hose from the scrappy and use the clips too.

because funnily enough i was told the original spring clips were s**t, and i should replace them with jubilees

plus they are a complete pain in the arse to get on and off, especially if you dont like bodily injury

i'll probably get a spare at the yard - but, for the record, what is the size?
