Mk4's won't fit unfortunately. Mk3 Golf badged will, OTOH, both front and rear are identical.

i take it by identical
the front vw badge is the same on a polo and on a golf and the rear is the same for both

Oh, right. That's what I meant.
The MK5's have their badges shared with the Mk4 Golf, correct?

So that means I can get a proper OEM Black badge from VAG then ? , my local VW dealer said that VW don't do black badges

Try again (or phone them) and give 'em the part number. They should be able to look it up in their system.
Sometimes it helps to give them the number, I've heard them say 'but I can't find it!' too often to believe it anymore...
