HELP!!! POLO GTI XENONS

Post by tntuk »

Hi All,

does anyone know how to adjust the light levels on the xenons? Also, anyone can advise me how to get light alignment right? Please don't say i need to take it to a garage!!! Is there any rough guide to line up the lights if anyone has tried to do it themselves! Most appreciated in advance.........!

I think you're right CBurns, they are self-adjusting and get their level from the rear axle? It would need to go to a garage to be readjusted if this is the case.

XENON LIGHTS

Post by tntuk »

Thanks for the feedback guys. If the lights are self adjusting then i will leave it as it is. I thought the holes on top of the lights un der the bonnet is where the lights get adjusted. So i was playing around with them!!! I think I got them level now so will leave it alone!!!

They are self adjusting, but for further adjustment it needs to be hooked up to vag.com, this lets you store the set hight etc!!

i fitted my own coilovers and when done the lights were pointin at the ground about 20ft infront, i just disconnected the brcket from the back axle (on the passenger side) and set the level myself!

u have to adjust it before switching on the ignition, if its not right then switch of the ignition, adjust, and switch back on, i did this til it was straight enough for me, can see where im goin perfectly now! :D

i would have thought that if you lower your car they would adjust themselves back to the correct level.

That's why they are self-adjusting. It's as if you have a heavy load in the back.

the load sensor is on the back of the car, there isnt one on the front.

therefore the car thinks there is a lot of weight in the back (because its low), and will bring the level of the lights down because it will think the front is still pionting upwards, it just doesnt know the front is low too which makes the lights point to the ground!

Yeah, a reliable source has told me the same however that it is adjustable via the VAG com...I've yet had chance to try it.
