Steering Wheels

Post by pettsy »

Gonna treat myself to a new steering wheel for xmas i think. Always liked the momo team one. However, can't choose between 280mm or 300mm.

Has anyone had any experiences of the different sizes?

Cheers, Pettsy

hi mate

I stuck with VAG parts and opted for an Audi S line leather wheel. Its larger than the OEM polo one and TBH I find it more comfortable a driving position and makes for slightly better driving.

Don't know if this is any help :?

I dont get this "racing steering wheel" Lark, They always look horrible IMO. Cant beat a Coupe S steering wheel. Smallest polo wheel ever i think (355mm) GT ones are 360, most mk2 ones are 380! But returing to the point, I think youll find 300mm more usable.

TBH I didn't change my wheel for the racing look. I was in the scrappies rooting under the Audi's bonnet for its oil pressure sensor and decided to sit in the cabin for a smoke break. The wheel caught my eye and felt good in my hands, so when the scrappy said he would sell it to me for £20 I bit his hands off

I got given this moutney steering wheel from a mate, think its a 320mm.
I own a mk2 golf without a power steering,i find it perfectly useable eben at low speed, also makes it feel like your driving a go-kart. :D

i kept the G40 steering wheel on my car for some time, it has a really nice feel! however, as i am 6ft5 i was struggling to get in and out of the car. winding down the window was also an issue, so i have now got my old steering wheel off my old car in there! much more comfortable for me and it means that when its been raining, i don't get two black marks on my trousers from where the wheel has been rubbing on them!
