epc and engine light on when car is switched on engine off

Hey Peeps,

Ive notice that when you turn the key once i.e. when the electrics are on but the engine is off the epc light and engine light is on, but u turn the key all the way and start the engine they disappear.

It just came back from VW for some HT lead changes, am sure theres nothing to worry about, but just wanna check with you guys.......

Sounds perfectly fine to me mate, mine does the same.

They all do mate, the EPC light stays on, the handbrake light, and maybe one other, as soon as you start the car they all go off apart from the Handbrake light, so long as the handbrakes on.

Yep all normal, car is doing its checks - if the lights stay on once the engine has been started, this indicates a problem. As long as they go out and stay out, all is fine
