My GT's playing up :(

Right my GT has been acting up today.

I went to start it and it wouldn't go. It was turning over fast and smooth but wasn't starting. I then tried it again and a second or so later it fired into life.

When I went to pull away it started to shake. I applied more gas and it felt like it was flooding. I lifted off the throttle and all was well again. Once I've taken it steady for the first time, its fine. You can give it a good thrashing (when warm, kids!) and it doesn't give any hesitation.

I noticed today one of the thin clear pipes from the air filter) was dangling around in the engine bay. The car has a Pipercross induction kit on it, could this be to blame?

Any help would be really appreciated. I can't have two VWs off the road!

Make sure theres no vacuum leaks first. Then see how it's running
