o dear! not too good!

had to do one on my blue mk3, its not bad, a bit of a pain though! y they never made them plastic!

my advise, i know the vw one is expensive but i got one through GSF and it wasn't the best fit! couldn't squeeze in all the cushioning above the tank (not a big deal until u shut the boot and u hear the tank rattle slightly!), and the filler tube had to be adjusted slightly to fit!

i think if i have to get another one, its gonna be a VAG one! at least its more likely to fit!

not good, had 2 do it on most of my polos. Luckily my currenty GT was owned by a VW mechanic b4 me so he put a shiney new tank on it.

So annoying. Found it a pain in the arse getting the old one out as exhaust and handbrake cables were in the way.Its definately not fun lying on your back for over and hour with all the petrol fumes

Odering on from fueltanksdirect, £60.40 delivered next day,plus comes with a 3year guarantee against workmanship faults.Can't really be doing with £175+vat and the wait from the stealerships.

please give us feedback on the tank you get, i.e. how well it fits, did it need any minor adjustments? as i'm dreading it when the G40 one goes!

Pattern tanks are more toruble than they are worth. I would only buy a genuine one now.

Thats where mine came from.Given it a few coats of hammerite paint,then a couple more of thick underseal.Just trying to pull my finger out and sort a few more bits before i put it back on.

Some need the filler necks bending to line up straight where the fuel cap sits. Mine pisses me off because it doesn't line up. I should of taken it back off again and shaped it. Not something you wan't to be doing. They need heating up to do it.

mine went last year, I was lucky enough to source one that was in a scrappies. the service history of the car that it was attached to said it had been fitted a month before the car was scrapped! managed to get it for £20

mind you tho it was the worst job that I have had to do on my car to date
