Can anyone tell me what car the 1600 engine comes out of that bolts straight into the mkIII (correct me if im wrong ) and what stuff would i need off the car apart from the engine? thanks for any help homies
i think its the mk2 seat ibiza, you can run the GT head and injection on it,
i recon it would run sweet if you used the G40 injectors aswell. im not to sure but i think you have to change the main engine mount, there are 2 bolts which dont line up or something, but easy enough to change.

do you know what engine code the seat 1.6 is? i've got a 1.6 AEE engine in the garage actually from a skoda , if the bottom end just bolts up to the head without a daft compression ratio i might try it in my 3F powered mk1 golf

The question is, is it worth all the effort over a 3F lump ? Your gonna be paying more tax and probably more insurance (depending who it's with).
yer, im thinkin of goin for the 1.4 seat engine now.
plus, a friend of mine said he's got all the gear to turbo it an can weld me up a manifold, im thinking of that later on in the year,
Hehe i wasnt plannin on mentionin anythin to the insurance about it livin on the edge. Im 19 so i suspect ill get ass raped if i tell em ive put a 1.6 in lol
If you are thinking of not telling the insurance, you might as well not have a policy. The reason why permiums are high is because of this kind of thing. If you go to brentacre they will do a policy that allows any mods upto 100 bhp or 125 bhp etc, doesn't matter if it's a conversion.
