It can be done on the standard Head Unit as i have the same setup (ie tape a 6 CD).

Run the sub off the rear speakers, power cable runs down the passenger side into the engine (well durrr)

The amp auto on/off is done by connecting one of the wires to the stereo - dunno which one though - my friend who is extremely good at ICE did it for me 8)

My friend Joe asked me to post this for you ;
tell that soundsystem guy he needs to find an amp with hi level inputs to run from the rear speakers then he needs to find the remote antenea wire of the back of the stereo to switch the amp on and off unless he wants to run a seperate power lead to control the amp switching but if he forgets to turn the switch off his battery will die.
If he wants to put a kenwood head unit in it will make his life a lot easier but im unsure wether they still make adapters for fitting OEM cd changers onto aftermarket headunits
Hope this helps
