GT/G40 instrument cluster into a 1.3CL?

Post by Gobert23 »

Has anyone retro fitted a set of GT/G40 Coupe instruments into a 1.0 or 1.3 Polo Coupe?

I've just bought a set of clocks in the hope that I'll gain the use of a rev counter, but I've worried that once fitted in, the rev couter is not going to work unless I go out and get verious senders and extra bits of wiring.

Does the item bolt straight in and work? ...or do I need to add extra wiring to the all the instruments to work?

Cheers for any help guys

Thanks

Magic, I'll keep everyone posted as to how successful I am in fitting them myself (doesn't look like a complicated job). I'll be changing the steering wheel at the same time for something a little more sophisticated as well...

Fingers-crossed, this could be the cheapest mod yet. Certainly hoping it'll be less hassle than trying to fit a separate rev counter.

I'll get a guide typed up asap...

Mental note: Must get a digital camera for these things...
