250 miles with a full tank of shell ultimate good or bad?

Filled up my gti with a full tank for the first time the other day, since i got it in decenber. I only got 250 miles to the full tank.

Is this avarage for the gti

thats not even been on a motoway with it.

Don't think you are too far off the mark. Depends on how you drive of course! We get around 280 I think, but with a light right foot you should be able to break 300 without too much fuss.

i tend to get 300-325 miles to a full tank. That includes some spirited driving aswell.

ive never driven with a light foot for a full tank so its hard to see the maximum miles i could get out of a tank, i always get tempted to put the foot down on a nice open country road.

i think i get roughly 230ish with a heavy foot

sounds about right.

When i got my gti back after the cambelt kit and services, i decided to take it very easy. I did 172 miles on 20 quid

MPG sounds not too bad for the GTI. My 1.25 Fiesta gets around 260-300 miles on a full tank (40 litres) which is terrible

Managed to get 325 up to last weekend with a tank full of Optimax. Thats a 'best ever' for me

After a little bit of motorway driving I got 310 miles before the light, town driving usually gets me between 270-280.

I generally get about 300-320 out a tank of opitmax. I once got over 400 on a trip to Newcastle and back at a pretty constant 60mph with the odd overtake.

I normally get between 280-300 miles town driving.

I'd say about 320-330 if some of that is on motorway.

Best i've had was about 370 i think. But that was just one really wrong run on motorways and A roads.

Resurrection!

On my first two tankfulls of Optimax I got:

- 270.3 miles before the light came on, which worked out at 32.95 MPG
- 282.1 miles which worked out at 34.14 MPG (the light didn't come on, but i filled up 0.29 litres more than last time)

I usually get 280-300, however i did once see 380/390 (can't remeber is exactly)

That was a 4-5 hour drive to Yorkshire, only a few stops and a steady 60/70mph

i tend to do a lot of motorway miles because of my job, i can normally get close to 400 miles maybe just under. But that's with normal fuel. I'll give optimax a bash next week and let you know if it's any different

I got 330 something on a recent camping trip, on standard Shell.

250 Sound about rite for mixxed driving, booting it abit
