hi am wanting a car with more power but would like it to be german + diesel

looking at the polo gt:

+
power
price

-
looks normal
bit small

new A3 2.0tdi

+
looks more sporty lookin
power
bigger

-
price

or wait for the golf 2.0tdi which will be a few £k cheaper...

I'd say definately the Polo GT (if it comes over here) if your after power. The Polo obviously weighs allot less than an A3 and also IMHO uses a much more responsive diesel engine.

I'm pretty sure the GT is gonna be a bit more special when it comes out. Also, I imagine the residuals with a GT badge would be pretty good too (though of course they could never match an A3, but thats a womans car! :) )

Another Car which will be worth a look is the forthcoming Seat Ibiza Cupra TDi or whatever they're going to call it. Same 150bhp engine outta the current Golf TDi-GT.
OK, I know it's technically spanish but it's all kit from the same VAG parts bin :roll:

If you're happy with your current Polo, go for the GT.
If not, try something else!

Personally I would say wait for the new GT, or if you can wait even longer, then see what the Polo GTI comes out like.

Old or new, there is something I have never liked about the A3.

The new Golf looks promising, but it's going to take a lot of self persuasion to get to like it's 'funky' looks.
