Smoothing bumpers . .

Dunno mate, I just dropped the car off and picked it up

Just told them I wanted the runstrip removing and smoothing, then the splitter smoothed and painted

It's textured so it just needs rubbing down, to be primered then sprayed.

it is better if you can get it plastic welded as there is minimal filler/ fibreglass used but its a tricky 'art' so not everywhere can do it... if you get it fibreglassed then there is a risk it will sink but it can just be skimmed over at a later date (jus had mine done again and you wouldnt know!)

expect to pay around £250 to have it done and painted and a bit more if you have the front end blown in to colour match properly...

• Firstly they remove the bump strips
  
  Then cut the recess out so it just leaves a hole
  
  Then they weld a plastic sheet onto the bumper
  
  Cut tiny grooves into the bumper across the area with grinder
  
  Then they cover the area with fibre glass
  
  Then they smooth it all off and put a tiny layer of bodge on
  
  And then paint

Mine cost £300 for front bumper, rear bumper, door handles and boot lock!

How far are you from Pant Motorbodies (in Pant)? They did a good job on my Polo when it was repaired last year
