Ive started many different forms of martial arts until i found one that suited me and what i was after - i settled for white crane kung-fu
( i know its not what your after all the spirtual stuff but thats what i was after !!! ) i aslo take tai-chi classes as this is also in itself a martial art but more an "internal" defensive one !!
But the others i tried were Judo - a good one for grappling holds and throws (useful for ufc !) i also tried kickboxiing but like robz :-
I dnt no much about jiu jitso but personally i wouldnt go for kickboxing, ive tried it & felt it was really 1 dimensional & from what u r saying your looking for something with more variety?
i agree i wasnt impressed at all - i would have preferred Muay Thai
the other i tried was korean karate which has an almost "street fighting" feel to it with very agressive stances and attacks !!
im on the look out for a capoeria school/class/lesson - i would love to learn that !!
sorry about the essay but i love my martial arts !!
