yeah we'd kick your ass  lol

Well on a slightly more mature note theres more power in the GTi over the 1.4, a lot more luxurys within...so the GTi, are you thinking of buying one or the other? or already got one?

It depends really on whats tuned and weight

I assume mk4s are lighter, so there might not be a great deal of difference between a mk4 16v and a mk5 GTi?

Might be an idea to find the published performance specs

Jez has 137bhp in his mk4 1.4 16v and he's not finished yet, thatll eat a standard mk5 GTi

If you go for a Cat-back system that should see you right. Supersprint are the best sounding ones Ive herd on Polos but it depends on how much your willing to spend.

Not sure if a full striaght through system would help that much on a GTi without forced induction, ask Saj what he's done to his.

As for Jez, he's being very hush hush about what he's done. The brunt of it will be stuff like 4-2-1 manifold, probably a cam of sorts and lots of other stuff. It's been tweak by Yoof and apparently they arent finished yet

+37bhp from a 16v is f*****g good though imo

Alex, I think he meant a MKV 1.4 16v (100BHP) against the GTi.

i had a mk4 1.4 16v (100bhp) before my mk5 gti.

both completly standard and i must say the gti is definatley quicker both accelleration and definately quicker top end.

theres not alot in it but certainly enough to notice!

Just out of interest, have you rolling-roaded your car?
