Yep, just make a template then cut round them.

Took me all of about 15 minutes to make a template and cut them out.

Forgot to check when I saw them on your car Tom, but can the red GTI text be removed? Is is another sticker on top? rubs off?

It's all printed on Inder, I think the only way you'd be able to hide the GTI is to get some brushed metal look vinyl cut to the same size as what's on the sill.
