New catalytic converter.

Post by LAN's GTI »

I need a new catalytic converter for my GTi, as the flexible joint has split right open and the internals of the cat have started to rattle and it's driving me mad.

Went to VW at the weekend to get a quote, It was over £700 for supply only, minus a £125 surcharge you get back when you return your old one so they can recondition it and sell it to someone else for £600+ :o

Anyway, found this, it's got a 3 year guarantee and should be better quality than a kwik-fit jobbie, which is the cat only and won't solve the flexible joint problem, what do people think?

I sell cat's for these at work, I'm off for the week so if you can wait till monday I'll let you know the price.

Pretty sure it was no more than £200 plus vat, will have to look though.
