noise from repaired gearbox

hi all

i share the gti with mum and when i was away on holiday it started a whining/wheezing noise, as quite a few other gti's have. Any way it whent into the garage, gearbox was striped as required 4 repair, then put back in with new clutch, not sure whether its new or recon, have not been around, more than likely a recon. Had the car back for few days, felt strange at first as it was away for a week plus i was away for a week before that, now another noise has started up from the gearbox area, you can sometimes hear it while going slow, but its mainly when your in first pulling away, i found if i hold the gearstick below the knob, then pull away just using the clutch, theirs quite a loud tapping noise. I lifted the cover up to see if i could see anything, but the noise seems further down.
It might be told that its just because it needs wearing in, but im sure it should not be making this kind of noise.


Any one had this before, or any idea what it might be.
Luckily the garage has not been paid yet, i will go down their 2m to tell them about it.
