Im also looking for an exhaust with the same sort of criteria for my 1.4 16v, but i also want it to look OEM and neatly fitted. Many readily made ones, ive seen stick out way too much or seem to be ill fitting.

Ive been recommended by many people to get a custom made backbox from Longlife, where they make a custom one and its not too expensive either (but i need to save up for it as i got other mods prioritising  )

Ive enquired about it and they can make just what i want, as i just want a deeper note when you hit the accelerator, but nothing raspy or loud, just subtle and nice OEM looking unit.

Hmm. what´s the point if you want it look OEM? I guess you gotta have bigger pipes for better noise, don´t you agree? Othervise just drill some holes...

Remus makes nice looking exhaust parts but the only problem is they ain´t exactly cheap.

When i mean OEM looking, i mean looking as a factory fit. Im planning on a twin tailpipe design that neatly fits the recess on the rear valance, nothing sitting bent or looking out of place. Similar style to the MK7 Gti style - nice and subtle.. 8) ..but each to their own.... :D
