LED Sidelights

Post by ModifiedMadness »

Has anyone here got LED Sidelights?

I asked VW to fit mine today while it was in for MOT, Service and Cambelt but they said they couldn't because they're not MOT Passable because they're blue which they're not!

They're called Xenon white, I just wondered if anyone else had them and has passed MOT ok?

If they're Zenon white (like the other guy who did the How to), theyll be fine

Dont think LED's are E marked, and maybe it's a risk just incase something came back on VW for fitting the bulbs

Maybe they just couldnt be arsed, who knows

So long as they arn't blue as disco lights, you wont have a problem at MOT

I asked my local dealer to put my new globes in when it went in for service, they said no (obviously) as they reckon if VW audit them they will get into strife for using non VW OEM parts, so I did it myself no dramas. As the globes put out white light all local road worthy requirments were met.
