2000 Gti Gearbox (ARC Engine code) ROD or CABLE ??????

Does anyone know if the gearboxes are the same in the Gti all through its life in the 6n2 model ?


I.e Did they change the gearbox at all to fit the AVY engine ?
As i've a ARC Engined Gti wth a knackered box in it.


I've just read chris's post about his gearbox and he said his is rod linkage, but he has a later AVY engine code

And was wandering if my gearbox would be the same rod changed setup (if you's know what i mean)

Or different ?

Anyone ?
