ebay bargain

Post by DanDiesel »

after all the trouble i've had with alloy wheels over the past couple of months i thought i had given up!!
i started looking for a set of steelies to the run the car on whilst my seat alloys were being refurbed!
well there was hardly anything out there but then i found these:

Image

BBS rxII, 7"wide by 16inches, rare wheels off a mk3 golf anniversary gti (later models were fitted with 6.5" wheels)

same offset and PCD and the seller said they were fitted to a mk4 golf that had the 312mm brakes aswell!!
haha yeah i think i may have found a bargain as i bought them for............................................................................................................................................

£112 pounds (with tyres which need changing)
plus £13 to bring them half way so £125 in total!

they need a refurb

but i was counting on that!!
opinions maybe on what colour i should get??

Gloss black powder-coated rims and polished centres :D

I think a hint of black in the wheels would go nice with the grey of your ibiza.

*EDIT*

Maybe I was wrong about black rims. I played with a picture of my RXII's on photoshop and black rims look poo. So maybe polished rims with a colour-coded centre or diamond-cut centres with black/grey detailing

Good buy :) They're more common than the 4-stud versions, but that's still a bit of a bargain.

As for colour....what about gunmetal/dark silver to match them with your cars paintwork?

Trying to decide whether to powdercoat the centres on the ones I'm refurbing, or maybes polish them.

I'd get the centres done the same colour as your car and the lip polished Dan, that would look pretty cool.

Is shadow chrome the finish that *looks* like chrome but actually isn't (and therefore much more durable)? 8)

Platinum Grey with a polished lip! :D

Are you getting 312s? Will these fit over them?

312s are one of my plans and the guy i bought them off said that they were on a mk4 golf for a while which was running 312 brakes, so hopefully its all good!!

i think most people would like to see them polished lip with colour coded centres and this is probably what i will go for!!
i did think about black but then i changed my mind and the shadow chrome looks awesome but i don't think it would suit the look i'm going for to be honest!

thanks for all ur replies!! :D

ps-wouldn't mind seeing a photoshop tho Tom  or whoever wants to have a go!!
