LEAK!!!! HELP QUICK!!

Post by Jackthelad »

:( I've somehow managed to gain an unwanted feature to my 9N polo, a nice water feature in the rear passenger foot well. The only part wet is the middle, no surrounding areas :? has anyone had this problem? And has anyone got any ideas?? Thanks.

Sounds like the rear wiper wash pipe has popped off - does the rear wiper wash still work?

The rear washer is working fine, this only happens when it rains! VW could fix it, but I dont want to pay for the labour to find a leak!! Could take days!!! Has anyone had this problem personally??

I've had this problem. (see my post)
http://www.tigerstyle.co.uk/poloforum/v ... highlight=

Have you got a sunroof, as this is where mine was leaking from due to the drain pipe becoming disconnected in the front "A" pillar and the water then made its way to the rear footwell. (The water flowed through the seam where the dash reinforcement bar was bolted to the A pillar).

Check the doors aren't leaking.

Make sure the two drain holes in the scuttle under the windscreen are not blocked.

You could check the washer pipe as they sometimes come apart enough to leak water but still work. the washer pipe for the rear window runs along the inside of the sill, up over the wheel arch and up into the roof, there are a few connectors along its length that may have come apart.

They are:-

1 - Underneath the ABS Gubbins in the engine bay (L/H Side).
2 - In the boot next to the Seat belt reel on the left hand side (behind the carpet and just above a pair of electrical connectors)
3 - At the top of the rear pillar L/H side just before it goes into the rubber Boot to the hatchback
and finally

4 - Inside the hatch - the connection onto the wiper motor.

Good luck finding it as the water can flow quite a distance.
