Iv also done this trick thing when u open your door, LED's from underneath the door light up,and go off when u shut it. I'l get sum pic's up shortly of that.

looks really spiffy phil.
what size leds/where from?

would be interested in a how to for this, specially if you've switched every single led rather than just a backlight.

Looking good Phil :D

Did you need to take the steering wheel off to get the dials out?

Also any problems with warning lights turning on after re-fitting the dials?

Is the dash brightness still dimmable?

Looks cool mate 8) I thought it was only valvers which had LED display lights? I was under the impression that all 8v/diesels were just a normal bulb with coloured plastic strips determining the colour?

My bro supplied the LED's from work, there surface mounted LED's, You change the majority of the LED's,not all.

Nope didnt need to take steering wheel off. No warning lights afterwards. I did have the airbag light on before i did the mod, so i just unsoldered that LED. They are still dimmerble.

Any polo after 98 has LED's rather than bulb.

Definate modification worth doing.
