Black badge inserts

Post by jonPDpolo »

Anyone know how to colour code the rear badge on a mk5 / where to get colour coded inserts for the rear badge?

Yeah, it's fairly simple. First, take off the badge. Use a bit of dental floss, sawing away at the double sided tape. Once it's off, pick off the remains of the double sided tape, and you should see 6 plastic rivets. Use a stanley knife or similar to take off the plastic rivets until you can take off the chrome VW badge bit. Once that's off, mask up the rubber bit and prime and spray the insert with your desired colour. Once it's dry, put the two parts back together properly. Use some araldite or other epoxy glue to put the parts back together. Once the glue has dried, stick it back on the car with some Halfords trim repair tape.
