Im gonna go against the grain...

Don't think its funny at all and think its a stupid idea... I know I wouldn't be best pleased to say the least having my car fu<ked up like that... Also being so near the crossing with people so close it is dangerous aswell... Don't think a proper hazard assesment was carried out nor carefully planned....

Rather get a £50 fine anyday.... Thaaaaank Youuu

Eh, but there wil no doubt be signs everywhere saying its just a pedestrianised and bus zone! Course you wouldnt be best pleased if it f****d your car up, but thats the point in them going up so quickly, to stop muppets like that sneaking through where they well then be illegally driving and causing a danger to public!

You cant say a proper hazard assessment was carried out, cos there all over britain.

The folk who attempted to get through got what they deserved!!

A bloke from Talk Audio had the van in the bodyshop he works at.

The bloke didn't say what REALLY happened, I think he made up some story but the bloke recognised it from the vid

The point Im trying to make is that its too close to the crossing.... Check the 2nd car (the black one) could have easily bounced of the poles into one of the pedestrians (there was a woman with the baggy just behind aswell), also the van driver cracked the windscreen with his head? Just seems to be dangerous... People will no doubt try cheating the system no matter what it is just dont think they should have to pay in car damage or head injury costs instead of a standard £50 fine for going in a bus lane...

The only reason it's dangerous is because people knowingly attempt to break the law and gain an advantage.

If they didn't try to go somewhere they shouldn't, then they wouldn't get injured or have their vehicle damaged it's as simple as that.

Usually the buses have a radio transmitter or similar that the driver can use to lower the bollards before he or she then proceeds forward. This is why the buses pause before driving over it.

Funny as it is, it serves the other drivers right for trying to break the law :P
