boot builds in mk3's
hey guys! for xmas i am getting a 6 CD disk changer that i want to put in the boot of my car! wot i want to do it create a sort of compartment on the left hand side of the boot that will hold the changer in and have the face showing! this compartment will need to have some hinges on it so i can get to the rear of the light cluster and the first aid box! has anyone got anything like this? how and wot did ya make it out of and how do u attach it to the car? i am open to sugestions and pics if possible!
yes, u may laugh! but its true! in the left hand side of the boot is a bracket which is there to hold the first aid kit, without me knowing, my dad ordered me one, but hey, if i go abroad, less things to buy cause ya need a first aid kit to go abroad! trust me on this one!
and by the way, thats exactly the response that i want to get rid of, thus the wanting to hide it lol

as requested, some pics!!!
here is the first aid kit its self:

here is where it is in the bott and the bracket that holds it in:

(*NOTE* the plan is that the CD changer is above this and this whole section is cornered of with a carpeted material!)

And finally, here they are together!!! does anyone else have the brackets in theres?

hey guys, figured out how to start the boot build and keep it in without it folding out, the plan is to take off the first aid bracket, get some longer bolts that hold it in, put a sheet of MDF that is shaped to fit, drill the holes in the MDF where the bracket would be situated, put the bolts through the bracket through the MDF and into the existing holes! that should give a god base to start from! then i can work out from there!
once the build is complete i'll carpet it in a similar material to that wots on the parcel shelf, i'll also put some of the material on the floor of the boot to make it match! then eventually might do something similar on the other side but put a small sub or an amp or something like that, haven't really decided yet!
hardhitter- there is a black plastic material on the lip of the boot where the latch is! y? is that normal?

hey mate, haven't started on the boot yet! haven't got the changer to build round yet, as far as i no, i no how its all going to fit together! its going to be a case of using the first aid box bracket, and a series of other brackets to create the master piece! then a nice be of black carpet and hey presto!
i have also had a brainwave! (it hurt!!) using any excess bits of mdf, i will make some speaker mountings for the front speakers as my origionals have blown up and sound like s**t!
so wot i'll do, i'll take off the speaker covers, make some mdf plates to fit in the place and see how bigger speakers i can get in there! then with a bit of carpet, finish em off!
its amazing wot u can do with some mdf and some carpet! lol
