Remote Central Locking

Post by mjmills »

has anyone managed to retro-fit remote central locking to a MKVI Polo? ideally i would prefer the official VW version with Switchblade keys, but i don't know if this is possible?

Any help is much appriciated!

Hi, i have found this item;
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... &rd=1&rd=1

The people at the shop don't seem that helpfujl in respect to providing me with a wiring diagram, but does anyone know how easy it would be to install such a system? or whether or not i can even ask a VW dealer about installing it?

i was going to do it buy getting an alarm fitted to my car with RCL, then getting a flip open key from the dealer and programing it in.

could turn out expensive though.

well this kit only cost me 35 quid including 2 flip keys, so i am hoping i can do the wiring for very little, does anyone know much about the wiring of this car, and how easy access to the central locking unit is?

i ended up taking the rookie option and got a specialist to do the fitting (£60) but i now have remote central locking with 2 flip keyfobs (they do look just like the real ones)
kit - £35
fitting - £60
then a little adjusting of the key, and moving the imobiliser transponders accross!

total cost 95!
