yes the back part of the seat go's down but then my feet dont touch the pedals cos the front of the seat is still heigh:roll: so i have to put the seat forward and that makes my legs hit the bottom of the dash and if i recline the seat back then i have to lean out of my seat to change from say 2nd to 1st - 4th to 3rd the car just dont seem to fit me ??? i've always had vw's (lupo, new beetle, old bugs'mk1 & mk2 & mk3 golf gti's and a bora ) and i've never had a problem sitting in a dub just right but my polo is killing me , i think i'm going to have to change the seats cos if not i'll end up selling it  i just cant get comfy . any idea's on what seats will fit and sit nice without too much work ???

Corrado seats.

They just slide in.

Height adjustable, reclining and slidable.

They are the from the top of the range VW of that era. Says it all really.

No subrames needed. Just unfasten your polo seat, slide it out, slide the coraddo seat in.

i think scirroco ones are lower as well, you should be able to swap over a scirroco base and keep your polo upholstry if its still good condition

Corrado seats wont fit, the legs are further apart. Mk1 Golf hard top seats will fit, as will scirocco and mk1 convertible up to 1985.

My mrs has corrado seats in her mk4. They fitted straight in. The seats that came out her mk4 dont fit my gt as the legs are too far apart. We're the bases on your seats not swapped over to get them to fit?

I know mk2 golf seats wont fit an early mk1 for the same reason, mk2 golf is corrado size mk1 is polo size.

Don't insult my intelligence.

The seats came straight out of the corrado and were put into the polo with no modifications to the frame.

The sliding arms and the rails are the same distance apart on them. These seats fit my mk2 Polo van and my mk3 polo coupe.

I personally know of at least one other polo with them in too and have heard of others with them in. The one I know has un-modified corrado seats from an early VR6, I was there when these put in.

The back seats don't fit but can be made to fit with some bodging, however they look out of place.

I have heard that the heated corrado seats (VR6 Storm ones IIRC) cause issues, I don't know why, I've assumed it's just that the heating wouldn't work but it could be an issue with the under seat height as the base of the seat must be set on it's lowest height setting to fit them in.

Also if the swing arm on the outer side of the seat becomes loose this can also cause difficulties with fitting.

The white plastic shoes should be changed over for either new or good condition shoes and the seat is more difficult to align than the polo seat due to the length of the seat base and centre catch.
