Popping out..

for some strange reason my car just seems to keep popping out of the reverse gear.
I dont hear any whining from the gearbox, but when i put it in reverse first time it makes a loud pop and pops out. It goes in normally second time round and works fine after that.

anybody else had similar problems, or know wot it could be??

It happens to me in my 1.0E from time to time - as you say you just put it back into gear and it seems to be ok. Im told by VW its my linkages or my gearbox oil or something. Goes in on the 1st to be fixed, so its all good;
